DAY 1: Arrive at Lhasa Gonggar Airport, pick up the plane and check in to the aerobic hotel for rest

Day 2 – Lhasa-Mila Pass Tunnel-Nyingchi-Giant Cypress Yishe Manor-The Confluence of the Yarlung Zangbo River and the Niyang River

Giant Cypress Yishe Manor: Giant cypress is a national first-class protected tree species, called “Laxin Xiuba” (sacred tree) in Tibetan. It is nearly 50 meters high and 5.8 meters in diameter. It has been growing for more than 2,500 years. It takes 12 adults to hug it. It is known as the best cypress in China.

Yarlung Zangbo River: The Yarlung Zangbo River is the longest plateau river in China and one of the highest rivers in the world. It means “snow water flowing from the mountains” in Tibetan. It is regarded as a “holy river” in Tibetan Buddhism, and religious activities and circumambulation along the river have continued for thousands of years.

Day 3 – Nyingchi-Special Tibetan Village-Basongcuo-Lhasa

  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
  • Accommodation: Lhasa

Tibetan Village: Today we will visit Tibetan homes, experience the lives of Tibetans, make tsampa and drink butter tea.

Tips: There are Tibetan silver, handicrafts, specialties, etc. for sale in the village. Please buy according to your needs.

Basongcuo: The first national 5A-level scenic spot of natural scenery in the Tibet Autonomous Region, one of the many holy lakes on the Tibetan Plateau, known as “Cogao Lake”. There is a Tang Dynasty building “Cuozong Gongba Temple” on the island, which is a famous Red Nyingma Sect temple in Tibet.

Day 4 – Potala Palace – Potala Palace Square – Tibetan costume travel photography

Potala Palace: (limited to 1 hour in the palace) The Potala Palace built on the Red Mountain is the symbol of Lhasa and even the entire Tibet. It occupies the highest point in Lhasa with its majestic appearance and can be seen from any corner of Lhasa. This palace was built by Songtsen Gampo to marry Princess Bhrikuti and Princess Wencheng. After more than 1,300 years of continuous construction, it finally became magnificent. Under the clear blue sky, the palace with red and white exterior walls is located on the top of the mountain, and the golden roof is set against the white clouds, which looks extremely magnificent.

Potala Palace Ticket Booking Instructions:

  1. The Potala Palace ticket is subject to a real-name reservation system, and valid documents (ID card, household registration booklet or passport) are required for reservation.
  2. The visiting time of the Potala Palace is randomly issued by the Potala Palace Management Office. The visiting time cannot be specified. Please understand. At the same time, the actual tour route sequence may differ from the given reference itinerary.
  3. The Potala Palace is restricted during the peak season. In order to ensure the smooth visit of tourists, the travel agency will solve the problem through different channels. Please follow the tour guide’s arrangements. The following situations are all normal arrangements:
    • Each group may be split into multiple small groups (it may be necessary to separate the team or tourists booked together, and there may be situations where they are combined with other strangers to visit).
    • Each small group is divided into different times/dates for visiting.
    • Each small group follows a different tour guide to visit.

Day 5 – Lhasa – Yamdrok Lake – Karola Glacier – Gyantse Ancient Town – Shigatse

  • Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner
  • Accommodation: Shigatse

Yamdrok Lake: It means “jade lake” in Tibetan. It is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. It looks like a coral branch, so it is also called “the upper coral lake” in Tibetan.

Karola Glacier: One of the three continental glaciers in Tibet, the glacier is backed by the Naiqin Kangsang Snow Mountain, one of the four highest peaks in Tibet. The huge glacier extends from the top of the mountain where the clouds and mist float, all the way to the roadside only a few hundred meters away from the highway.

Warm Tips:

  1. In addition to the Tibet Entry Permit, foreign tourists traveling to Mount Everest on the same bus must apply for a travel permit in Shigatse. The tour guide will reasonably adjust the itinerary according to the travel permit application situation. Please follow the tour guide’s arrangements and actively cooperate.
  2. If there is a system failure or a surge in the number of tourists during the peak season, it will take too long to apply for a travel permit. Please understand.

Day 6 – Shigatse – Tingri – Jawula Pass – Rongbuk Monastery – Everest Base Camp

Mount Everest: Take the most beautiful border road to see the magnificent snow-capped mountains. Along the way, you can see the world’s third highest peak, Kangchenjunga, the world’s fourth highest peak, Lhotse, and Rimana Snow Mountain. Mount Everest is 8,848 meters above sea level, the highest peak in the world, located on the China-Nepal border in the middle of the Himalayas. The peak is covered with snow all year round, and the glaciers and silver peaks are towering in the distance. The scenery is extremely unique and spectacular.

Rongbuk Monastery: Rongbuk Monastery is about 5,100 meters above sea level, with high and cold terrain and wonderful scenery. The new Everest Base Camp is nearby. If you are lucky, you can also see the Everest flag cloud floating like the fire of life.

Tips:

  1. Accommodation is the Everest Base Camp B&B (public toilet, limited conditions): Overall, it is clean and tidy, which is quite different from the city hotels, please understand.
  2. The food and accommodation on that day are poor, the altitude is high, and the temperature is low, please pay attention to cold protection. Pay attention to safety and prevent altitude sickness. In summer, the temperature is around 0-8 degrees at night. Please bring warm clothes. You can also rent down jackets at the base camp to keep warm.

Day 7 – Jiacuo La Pass Observation Deck – Everest Base Camp – Shigatse

  • Meals: morning, noon and evening
  • Accommodation: Shigatse

Watching the sunrise on Mount Everest: Standing on the top of the earth, facing the sun and looking up at Mount Everest, the peak is covered with snow all year round. Looking at the glaciers hanging in the distance, the silver peaks are towering, a holy scene, and the scene of Mount Everest sunrise (the shooting effect depends on the weather).

  1. Whether you can see the sunrise on Mount Everest is subject to the weather and the actual group situation. Please understand.

Jiacuo La Pass: Jiacuo La Mountain is the only way to the world’s first peak – Mount Everest. The pass is 5252 meters above sea level and is the highest point on the China-Nepal Highway. If the weather is clear, you can stand at Jiacuo La Pass and see Mount Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse and Makalu.

Day 8 – Shigatse – Tashilhunpo Monastery – Lhasa

Tashilhunpo Monastery (tour for about 1 hour):

Tashilhunpo Monastery, also known as “Auspicious Xumi Temple”, is the largest temple in Shigatse. It is listed as one of the six major temples of the Gelug Sect along with Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery and Ganden Monastery in Lhasa, Ta’er Monastery in Qinghai and Labrang Monastery in Gansu. It was initiated by the first Dalai Lama Gendun Zhuba, a disciple of Tsongkhapa, in 1447.

Highlights of the tour:

  1. Known as the self-esteem of the rear Tibet, it is the residence of successive Panchen Lamas and the largest temple in the rear Tibet. It is also known as the four major temples in Tibet together with the three major temples in Lhasa.
  2. The Qamba Buddha Hall enshrines a bronze Buddha statue, which uses 231,400 kilograms of brass and 6,700 taels of gold. More than 1,400 diamonds and pearls of different sizes are used to inlay the eyebrows of the Buddha statue alone.
  3. The temple houses the Panchen Lama’s stupa, which is made of countless materials such as gold, silver, copper, silk, coral, pearl, agate, turquoise, etc.

Day 9 – Send the group to end the trip

After breakfast, arrange airport or station drop-off according to the flight schedule to end the pleasant trip.

The city is about an hour’s drive from the airport. It is recommended to arrange a flight time after 10 o’clock.

The Fee Does Not Include:

  • Single room difference: Hotel rooms are based on double occupancy (except multi-person rooms). Single room surcharge applies if applicable.
  • Room damage fees caused by itinerary changes are the responsibility of the traveler.
  • Personal expenses: hotel laundry, telephone, fax, pay TV, beverages, snacks, tobacco, alcohol, and other personal consumption.
